reflexology & reiki

A therapeutic technique provided at the Sexology Institute for stress reduction and relaxation.

45-minutes: $75

20-minutes: $40

Reiki can embrace and intensify sex and help heal every aspect of your life – it works on physical, emotional and spiritual levels, bringing harmony back into your life. A natural approach to sex is part of this harmony.

Reflexology helps with sexuality by helping to reduce stress and improving the libido:

  • Stress tends to kill the sex drive. It can also interrupt your sleep cycle, making you too tired for sex. Under stress, some people turn to unhealthy behaviors and indulgences, like alcohol and drug use, which can also reduce sex drive.

  • Working reflex points like the brain, hypothalamus, pituitary and ovaries/testes, stimulates hormone production. Plus the profound relaxation you’ll experience helps put you more “in the mood.”

Reflexology

Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese therapeutic technique for relaxation and attunement. It is based on the idea that a life-force energy flows through us and that if one's life-force is insufficient, then we are more likely to feel stress, anxiety and illness. When it is elevated, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "wisdom” or “higher power", and Ki which is "life-force energy". So Reiki is actually "power-guided, life-force energy."

A treatment feels like a wonderfully glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki involves the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace and well-being.

While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it has no dogma, and there is nothing in which you must believe to benefit from Reiki. In fact, Reiki’s effect is not dependent on belief at all.

Reflexology is one of the oldest healing techniques still practiced today. Stimulation of the reflex points in the feet encourages healthy changes throughout the body.

Reflexology is a healing technique that works with and affects the reflex points to normalize, balance and encourage homeostasis within the body.

The idea behind Reflexology is not new; it was practiced as early as 2330 B.C. by the Egyptian culture. We combine the art of aromatherapy with the techniques of reflexology in the application of essential oils. This provides balance and harmony to the body - physically, mentally, and emotionally.

During reflexology sessions, we incorporate Reiki which adds additional relaxation and energy transfer.

The Benefits of Reflexology are that it relieves stress by eliciting a natural relaxation response, is a true holistic form of therapy, and helps to decrease anxiety and pain

The client remains clothed during sessions and either sits or lays on the treatment table. During reflexology, the practitioner applies pressure to discrete points on the client's feet. She also places her hands on the client’s head and body in a series of hand positions. Each position is held for a few minutes. Reiki energy flows from the practitioner's hands to the client. There is no sexual contact. The session usually lasts up to 45 minutes.

"I was a bit apprehensive prior to my first session because I had never experienced Reflexology or Reiki; however, Erin made me feel so comfortable. During the Reiki portion, her hands were warm and a calming presence on my body. The oils she used were very relaxing, and the music really helped me to completely relax.

"The reflexology portion was like a very calming foot and leg massage. She focused on every area of my feet. I told her ahead of time that I had a headache and had it all day up to that point. She really focused on areas that would help relieve that pain. By the end of the session my headache was completely gone.

"The overall experience was very meditative. I wasn't sure whether I was awake or asleep for the entire experience. At the end of the session, I felt very relaxed and refreshed. Whether you're experienced in Reiki/Reflexology sessions or you're new to it like me, I would highly recommend a session!" - Amy
